Garcinia Cambogia
Garcinia cambogia is a tropical fruit native to Southeast Asia. Its scientific name means “Malay apple.”
The fruit looks similar to an orange with a large pit at one end. The flesh inside is bright yellow and sweet tasting.
Garcinia Cambogia has been used for centuries in traditional medicine. In Indonesia, the fruit is commonly referred to as Malabar tamarind.
In India, it’s known as Guduchi. In Africa, it’s called kola nut.
It contains high levels of hydroxycitric acid (HCA), an important compound that helps regulate metabolism. HCA stimulates the release of insulin by the pancreas. Insulin lowers blood sugar levels.
Research shows that HCA reduces hunger and cravings. It also improves digestion, so you don’t get bloated. Garcinia is often combined with chromium, calcium, and vitamin B6 to make a supplement called Citrimax.
